Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service\" width=\"484\" height=\"212\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div>At first I thought the users profile had just gone corrupt, so I deleted the Outlook profile and just recreated it and all was well in the world. However next time that particular user took their laptop out of the office the message eventually returned.\u00a0 I was able to put two and two together and figured it had to do with something the VPN tunnel on the sonicwall was doing to cause this issue.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h5>The solution:<\/h5>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div>As it turns out the split tunnel was causing havoc with the Exchange servers AutoDiscover feature. I was able to find an obscure article that mentions how to prevent Outlook from responding to http auto discover requests.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>By adding this quick registry entry you are telling Outlook to ignore the root domain and go to the next option on the list.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Open Regedit<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to this registry folder<br \/>\n<strong>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Office\\16.0\\Outlook\\AutoDiscover<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Right-click <\/strong>on the right side, select <strong>New<\/strong>, and choose <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Value. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Name the value\u00a0<strong>ExcludeHttpsRootDomain<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>After adding, <strong>double-click <\/strong>the value, and set the <strong>Value data <\/strong>to <strong>1, <\/strong>leaving the <strong>Base <\/strong>as\u00a0<strong>Hexadecimal<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Close the Registry Editor window<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After that is completed you can try to reboot and see if Outlook opens properly. However I have found that you still need to remove the profile and create a new one.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Press the <strong>Windows <\/strong>button, and type <strong>Control Panel, <\/strong>then open the result, if using Windows 8 or newer.
